Liquid Designs

Sep. 27, 05 • CSS Showcase Sites0 comments

Sure, Liquid Designs is yet another CSS showcase site (YACSS) but its twist is that it only highlights CSS sites with liquid layouts. Liquid layouts always present a certain set of challenges and it will be interesting to see if any really complex sites are listed.

Design Shack - Inspirational CSS and Blog Design

Sep. 18, 05 • CSS Showcase Sites0 comments

Design Shack - Inspirational CSS and Blog Design is yet another CSS showcase site (YACSS). Its twist is that it counts click throughs versus views and you can get a feel for how this information could be interesting particularly on the archive page.

There are ratings, too, though it's not immediately obvious how to me those are generated.

CSS Thesis: sites, that's all

CSS Thesis: sites, that's all should probably give itself credit for its little popularity counter deal, because I actually kinda like that feature.

Devil's Details: Web Design Details Blog

Apr. 8, 05 • CSS Showcase Sites0 comments

I'm not sure if this site actually counts as a showcase site since it only deals with specific details but nevertheless Devil's Details the web design weblog is pretty slick. Actually, it's really slick because not only does the site highlight good design it talks about why particular details make for good design. Great sites, great write-ups, excellent site.

Css beauty.com | Css Design Showcase

May. 26, 04 • CSS Showcase Sites0 comments

If you came here from google because you searched "best css" then this is the post for you because you need look no further than cssbeauty.com. This site highlights good look'n websites and it aint too shabby itself -- actually, it's quite my style and it will certainly get added to my scribble page in the esteemed 'Design I like' group I've created. Unlike my other favorite highlight site, The Weekly Standards, there's no well written introspection about the design, but there's comments.

If you've been paying attention, then you know this is yet another rip-off from dezwozhere's blog. I swear that guy must have a hundred rss feeds and be some kind of speed reader.

The Weekly Standards is dedicated to recognizing sites that have been lovingly crafted with web standards

Apr. 23, 04 • CSS Showcase Sites0 comments

WeeklyStandards.com highlights non-blog websites that have been created with web standards. Like many gallery sites, The Weekly Standards is a great place to go for inspiration and general style-watching (code-watching, style-watching, tag-watching, CSS-watching? -- when you surf for examples of implementation -- if there's a better word, stick it in the comments). With an eye towards aesthetic, the site makes a point to highlight sites that show how CSS "pushes the boundaries even further while still allowing everyone to view the content because of smarter, more accessible XHTML".
